TEM Online COD Analyzer
The potassium dichromate spectrophotometric method is a chemical oxygen demand (COD) determination technique based on redox reactions. In this method, potassium dichromate is employed as a strong oxidizing agent to oxidize the reducing substances in the water sample under acidic conditions. The COD value is calculated by measuring the absorbance of the reaction products using spectrophotometry. The major interfering substances during the measurement are chloride ions or chlorides, which can be effectively eliminated by adding mercuric sulfate to the water sample.
