Operating Principle

The infrared light emitted by the transmitter on the sensor is partially absorbed, reflected, and scattered during transmission through the sample. Only a small portion of the light reaches the detector. The transmittance of the light has a certain relationship with the concentration of suspended solids in the wastewater. Therefore, by measuring the transmittance, the concentration of suspended solids in the water can be calculated.
