TUF Ultrasonic Open-Channel Flowmeter

Operating Principle

The instrument controls the sensor to transmit ultrasonic signals toward the water surface. The ultrasonic waves are reflected by the water surface and received by the sensor. Based on the round-trip travel time of the ultrasonic signal, the instrument calculates the distance between the sensor and the water surface and, combined with the installation height, determines the liquid level (in meters). The measured level is then converted into the corresponding flow rate using a preset level–flow relationship table, with the output expressed in liters per second or cubic meters per hour.

    • Non-contact measurement: The sensor does not come into contact with the fluid, avoiding corrosion and fouling from wastewater; resistant to acids, alkalis, and corrosion, and can operate reliably in humid environments for long periods.
    • Direct flow measurement: Can be used directly to measure flow in open channels.
    • High adaptability: Compatible with various weirs, including V-notch, trapezoidal, and rectangular weirs.
    • Built-in flow–level tables: Common flow–level relationships are preloaded, allowing for immediate use.
